9-Time ICON Agent
I am grateful to share that I was named an eXp Realty ICON Agent again this month. This is my ninth year with eXp Realty and my ninth ICON Award.
That nine-for-nine milestone means a great deal to me. At the same time, an award like this only tells part of the story. The real story is the people who trusted our family and our team to guide them through some of life’s biggest decisions.
What Is an eXp Realty ICON Agent?
The ICON Agent Award is one of eXp Realty’s highest levels of recognition for its agents. eXp says the program honors agents who achieve exceptional production goals, positively affect company culture, and operate in alignment with the company’s core values. eXp University also describes ICON agents as role models, culture keepers, and a source of inspiration to other agents.
The recognition is not based on sales volume alone. Agents must satisfy substantial production requirements, and the program includes cultural contribution and event-related components. Qualified ICON agents may receive up to $16,000 in company stock after completing the applicable requirements.
In plain language, ICON status recognizes both a productive business and a commitment to helping strengthen the larger agent community.
How Rare Is eXp Realty ICON Status?
eXp’s official monthly announcements identify 3,238 ICON recipients across the 12 cohorts from September 2025 through August 2026. eXp reported 83,060 agents and brokers on its platform at December 31, 2025. Dividing the rolling 12-month recipient count by that point-in-time agent count produces approximately 3.9%, or about one ICON recipient for every 26 agents.
The 3.9% figure is a transparent estimate rather than an official eXp percentage: the numerator covers a rolling 12 months, while the denominator is a year-end snapshot. Even with that qualification, “about 4%” is a well-supported public description.
Nine consecutive ICON Awards are substantially rarer, but eXp does not publish a cumulative-award database or an official count of nine-time recipients. Public searches identify only a small number of agents and teams describing themselves as nine- or ten-time ICONs. That establishes rarity, not a complete roster. The accurate description is therefore “far rarer still,” without assigning an unsupported percentage or rank.
What Nine Consecutive Awards Mean to Me
Real estate markets change. Interest rates rise and fall. Inventory tightens and expands. Technology changes how people search, communicate, and make decisions. Earning the award in each of my nine years with eXp reflects sustained production through very different market conditions.
Still, production is not the reason I am most thankful. Every transaction represents a person or family navigating something important: a first home, a growing household, a relocation, an investment, an estate, a downsizing decision, or the sale of a place filled with memories.
Those situations require more than marketing and paperwork. They require careful listening, honest advice, thorough preparation, steady communication, and strong representation. Our team’s approach has remained the same: we advise, counsel, educate, negotiate, represent, and serve.
A Team and Community Achievement
Although the award carries my name, this has never been an individual effort. I am thankful to work alongside my parents, David and Cindi Veenstra. David brings decades of experience and calm, practical guidance to our clients. Cindi keeps the details, communication, and transaction process moving from contract to closing. Each of us has a distinct role, but we share the same responsibility to take good care of people.
We are also supported by many excellent lenders, title professionals, inspectors, appraisers, photographers, contractors, and cooperating real estate agents. Their work matters, and strong professional relationships help us serve clients well.
